NewPunisher: War Zone movie looks to have lots of BANG.

Whenever a studio announces that they plan to make a movie based on some comicbook character, I usually have two strong feelings about it: one thing I feel is elation that yet another comic book character is going to be given the increased exposure that such a transition brings with it.  The other feeling is that of apprehension, because we all know that sometimes these adaptions just don’t work out too well.  One example of this is the last Punisher movie – the one starring Thomas Jane.  It sounded like it had potential with the fact that some of the Garth Ennis material was going to be used, however at the same time it was not going top be the primary source material so I was concerned about how it would turn out.  In the end it was definitely a so-so kind of movie with some very entertaining scenes but overall a bit weak.  Now we are going to have a new Punisher movie, The Punisher: War Zone, starring Ray Stevenson, and I am again of two minds on this.

On the one hand it could be that they learn from their mistakes and improve upon them, but on the other hand there are different people involved in this and Thomas Jane dropped out when he saw the script and didnt like it enough to stay with the project.  so that doesnt sound too encouraging.  Recently there has been some fuss over the editing of the movie with the director, Lexi Alexander, and the studio , Lionsgate, not seeing eye to eye on the editing of the finished project.  again not too good.  However, there have been reports from people involved that it will be fun and violent. I also saw the red band Punisher movie trailer and it seemed pretty good (ie. pretty violent with lots of gunplay), so we will have to wait and see.

We have no choice. I encourage you to check out Punisher War Zone movie. I am not promoting this idea. It’s only going to help us out more in the long run. I agree.
